Facebook Analytics
Facebook Analytics was Meta's free analytics tool that measured behavior across web and apps. It was shut down on June 30, 2021.

What is Facebook Analytics?
Facebook Analytics was Meta’s free analytics platform that combined user behavior across channels into a single event log. It relied on the Facebook Pixel (now Meta Pixel) for web data and the Facebook SDK for app data, and could show funnels, retention, and segments. Meta permanently shut the tool down on June 30, 2021, and it can no longer be used or re-enabled.
Why does Facebook Analytics matter?
Even though the tool is gone, the name still appears in older guides, themes, and app documentation. For an online store it matters to know that the reporting now lives elsewhere, so you don’t chase a dashboard that no longer exists. Behavior and conversion measurement moved to Meta Business Suite Insights, Ads Manager, and especially Events Manager, where you track the events your store sends to Meta.
Common use cases
- You hit an old tutorial referencing Facebook Analytics and need the modern replacement.
- You want funnel and audience data and use Meta Business Suite Insights and Ads Manager instead.
- You debug conversion tracking and inspect events in Events Manager instead.
- You pair the Meta Pixel with server-side tracking via the Conversions API to improve data quality.
- You review cross-channel attribution after iOS 14.5.
Shopify perspective
In Shopify, the Meta integration is handled by the official Facebook & Instagram sales channel, which connects your store to Meta Events Manager. After Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (iOS 14.5), client-side pixel tracking became less reliable, so pair the Meta Pixel with the Conversions API to capture more events. Verify your setup in Events Manager rather than looking for the discontinued Facebook Analytics.
