Landing Page
A landing page is a focused page built around one conversion goal, usually the destination of an ad, email, or campaign click.

What is a landing page?
A landing page is the page a visitor reaches after a click, built around one clear message and one conversion goal — a purchase, a signup, or a lead form. Unlike the homepage, which spreads attention across many choices, a dedicated landing page removes distractions and drives the user toward a single action. It is usually the destination of paid ads, emails, or campaign links.
Why does a landing page matter?
A focused landing page with fewer menu items and competing links keeps attention on the primary CTA and therefore often raises the conversion rate. Equally important is message match: when the headline matches the ad or email the user came from, bounce rate drops, and in Google Ads it improves the landing page experience and thus your Quality Score. A better Quality Score can lower your cost per click, so a strong landing page pays off in both conversions and ad budget.
Common use cases
- Paid campaigns. A dedicated page per ad group, where the headline and offer match the ad’s message.
- Email and newsletters. A link that leads straight to one product or offer instead of the homepage.
- Product launches. A campaign page that gathers USPs, social proof, and one clear button.
- Lead generation. A simple page with a form and minimal navigation.
- A/B testing. Two variants of the same landing page in a split test to find the best-converting one.
Shopify perspective
Shopify has no separate “landing page builder,” but with Online Store 2.0 themes you can build landing pages directly in the theme editor using sections, no apps required. Create a JSON template like page.landing.json in the theme’s templates folder and assign it to the page via the template dropdown in admin or in the theme editor. If you need advanced drag-and-drop, page builder apps like PageFly, Shogun, or GemPages are an alternative. Keep page load fast — load speed affects both conversion and the performance of your paid ads.
